PLAN THE JOB
Choose with confidence.
Start with the right checks.
A misfire can make a good ride miserable, but buying a coil on symptoms alone can leave the fault untouched. Start with a diagnosis, then check the replacement's application, connector, boot and supplied quantity.

01
Treat ignition as a system
The coil, boot and spark plug work together. Inspect the relevant connections and check plug condition using the workshop procedure. NGK's technical guidance also stresses that a coil should not be assessed in isolation from the rest of the high-voltage circuit.
02
Gather the right information
Record when the misfire occurs and any diagnostic codes. A workshop can distinguish an ignition problem from fuel delivery or mechanical faults. Do not assume that a rough idle or loss of power identifies the coil, and do not use one generic resistance value for every coil design.
03
Match the replacement before ordering
Use the complete model and year coverage on the product page. Compare the original reference, connector, body, boot length and mounting arrangement. Similar-looking pencil coils are not automatically interchangeable. If the bike has been modified, include those details when asking for fitment help.
04
Check what arrives in the box
A listing may supply an individual coil rather than a complete set. Confirm the quantity and whether boots or leads are included. Plan the access and any other required service items before dismantling the bike, and follow the model-specific isolation and fitting instructions.
05
Choose from our coil listings
Motorbike Parts Australia has ignition-coil listings for Yamaha, BMW, Kawasaki and Hyosung applications. Use the links below to check fitment, photographs and availability. We can help review the listing against your original part before you order.

Questions before you order
Will a replacement coil cure any misfire?
No. Confirm the fault first; fuel, wiring, plugs and mechanical problems can also affect combustion.
Must I replace every coil together?
Follow the diagnosis and manufacturer guidance. Check whether the product price is for one unit or a set.
