A tidy rear end starts with a kit that suits the motorcycle and keeps the required equipment working. Before removing the original mount, check the bracket, lights, wiring and available clearance.

Match the motorcycle and mounting points
Use the complete model, year and variant. Compare the kit's mounts with the original assembly and check whether the bike has modified bodywork or an exhaust that affects clearance. A listing for one MT-09 or Tracer generation should not be assumed to cover every version.

Make a lighting and hardware checklist
Confirm what the kit includes and what must transfer: plate light, indicators, reflector, connectors and fasteners as applicable. Plan weather protection and cable routing. Avoid leaving wiring under tension or exposed to the tyre, sharp edges or exhaust heat.

Check clearance as well as appearance
The number plate and bracket need adequate clearance from the tyre and surrounding parts through the suspension's movement. Follow the kit and motorcycle instructions rather than setting the position solely by how it looks when parked.
