In this guide
A Raptor that pulls cleanly at light throttle but hesitates under load needs a proper fuel-delivery check. A weak pump is one possibility; a blocked filter, restricted tank vent, poor electrical supply or unsuitable fuel-controller settings can produce similar symptoms.
Confirm the replacement fits your Yamaha Raptor 700
Our matching product listing covers YFM700R applications in the 2006–2016 range and references 1S3-13907-00-00. This is a starting point for checking the part, not a guarantee for every variant in that range.
- Record the exact model code, model year and market variant.
- Check the original part number in the manufacturer’s parts catalogue or through a dealer; account for any superseded numbers.
- Compare the connectors, outlet arrangement, mounting points and supplied components with the listing.
- If anything differs, send us the model details and clear photos before ordering. Avoid removing the pump just to look for a number if the catalogue can identify it.
Symptoms and what to check
| What happens | Useful next check |
|---|---|
| Engine cranks but will not fire | Fuel condition, fault codes, ignition and fuel pressure |
| No expected key-on pump sound | Fuse, control circuit, power and earth at the pump |
| Hesitation or power loss under load | Fuel pressure, restrictions, electrical supply and ignition |
| Trouble changes with fuel level or slopes | Fuel level, pickup arrangement, venting and connections |
These are directions for diagnosis, not a parts-replacement verdict. If the engine does not crank normally, use our motorcycle no-start checklist before investigating fuel pressure.
Modified Raptor? Check the tune and the fuel supply separately
Record any exhaust, intake, injector or fuel-controller changes and when the problem started. A fault appearing immediately after a modification deserves a setup check. A fault on an unchanged machine still needs pressure and electrical testing. Temperature, throttle position and fuel level are useful clues, but they cannot reliably separate tuning from pump failure on their own. Avoid repeated full-throttle runs to reproduce fuel starvation; a workshop can assess the system under controlled conditions.
How to confirm a fuel-pump fault
Use the workshop manual for your exact model. There is no single pressure value, pinout or test procedure that is safe to assume for every quad. A useful diagnosis checks the pressure against specification and the pump’s electrical supply under the prescribed conditions. Low pressure with correct supply still requires checking restrictions and the pressure-control arrangement before replacing the pump.
Fuel-pressure testing needs a correctly rated gauge and the specified adapter. Do not loosen a pressurised line to see whether fuel comes out, bypass safety circuits or improvise an exposed battery connection near petrol.
Replacement planning
This is an overview, not a substitute for the model-specific removal procedure. Petrol and its vapour are flammable. Work with the engine cool, good ventilation and no ignition sources. If you cannot depressurise the system safely or do not have the correct tools, use a qualified workshop.
- Follow the manual’s pressure-relief and battery-isolation sequence before disconnecting fuel lines.
- Clean around the assembly and remove the specified panels or tank components without straining hoses or wiring.
- Inspect the tank and filters for contamination, and resolve its source.
- Compare old and new parts. Use the correct seals and follow the specified orientation, tightening sequence and torque.
- Reconnect the lines and wiring, then perform the prescribed priming and leak checks before refitting covers or operating the quad.
Do not ride if there is wet fuel, a persistent petrol smell or an unresolved leak.

Frequently asked questions
Does a humming pump mean it is healthy?
No. Noise confirms some activity, not adequate pressure or flow. Compare measured performance with the model’s specification.
Will a replacement pump support engine modifications?
Do not assume it will. The pump, injector and calibration must suit the engine’s required fuel delivery. Ask your tuner to confirm requirements for a modified engine before choosing a replacement.
Should I replace the pump just because the quad stalls?
No. Stalling can have fuel, electrical, ignition or mechanical causes. Record the conditions, check fault codes where supported and test before ordering.

Match the part to your job.
Choose a fuel-pump listing only after the fault is confirmed. Compare the supplied module or pump, connectors, outlet and sealing requirements. Products below cover different models and do not all share the same fitting procedure.
